I took a break from my audition to finally complete a new reference for Sailor Marin! Her outfit has gotten a few details removed, so now it’s a little bit simpler for everybody. There weren’t any huge revamps and most close-ups from her old reference still apply, so if you’re still confused you can check out the first reference!

Most of the profile info is the same as before, but I did edit it a bit.

History:
Marin wasn’t meant to be a Sailor Senshi. Her Sailor Crystal actually belongs to Sailor Miran, a senshi from an alternate universe, but it entered Marin’s world through an interdimensional rift and landed on a slice of cake Marin ordered and promptly ate. Miran’s consciousness, which was embedded within the Sailor Crystal, was not happy when it learned of its new residence. But she can’t do anything except goad Marin into tapping the powers of planet Miran and fighting evil as Sailor Marin. Marin claims she doesn’t want to be a senshi because it interferes with her time, but it’s really a dream come true for her.
Miran had auditioned for SMOCT2 before all this happened, but since she could no longer use her powers by the time the tournament officially began, Marin was invited in her place. With Miran’s “guidance” (or more likely out of spite), she made it past the first round, she and her second opponent, Tierra, disappeared shortly afterwards. And then…SMOCT3 audition!

Personality:
Marin is easily excited and easily infuriated. She's not one to initiate a conversation, but she's usually pretty friendly to everyone (except Miran, of course). She's usually goofy and optimistic, but she can be serious when the time comes. She also likes to overthink things, hence a lot of unnecessary angst and agony.
Marin is open to almost everything (she’s failing culinary school because her tastes are “too broad” for gourmet), but that doesn’t stop her from collecting books on haute cuisine and high fashion. But she’d never buy that kind of stuff because she’s a cheapskate. *coughracismcough*
As for Miran's personality, just think Mary Sue. Noble, pure-hearted, kind...and way too dramatic.
Likes: Gossip (or “being in the know” as she puts it), jumping to conclusions, and fashion design
Dislikes: Nature and the outdoors, snobs like Miran and her culinary classmates, and money
Hobby/Hobbies: Checking Facebook, not paying attention, baking “normal stuff” (as in anything with a name that isn't from some alien planet)
Other Information:
Since only those with Sailor Crystals can see and hear Miran (and only then if she decides to separate from Marin’s consciousness), her family and friends suspect her of schizophrenia because they’ve caught her mumbling to Miran way too many times. And no, they can’t communicate telepathically. Too convenient a plot device.

Speaking of convenience, Marin loves efficiency and multitasking. She’ll observe the environment around her and use whatever she can find against her opponent. It’s not that she doesn’t want to use Miran’s powers (if you had powers, I don’t think you would shun them); she just likes thinking out of the box and being “special”. When everyone else on the satellite is a Sailor Senshi, sometimes it’s unique to be normal.

Name: Sailor Marin/Sailormarin; either one is fine but she goes by the first
Gender: Female (yes, still)
Alignment: Good. Miran made her do it.
Home Planet: Planet Earth for Marin, and Planet Miran for Miran. (Miran isn’t her real name, but at the moment it’s all she remembers.)
Species: Asian. (Marin, not Miran...who, by the way, is probably of the Mary Sue subhuman species.)
Racial Advantages: Higher-than-average intellect in the math and sciences, innate sense of overachieving and hypercompetitiveness, ability to have weird hair and eye colors and get away with it, lack of social skills which leads to more time to ace video games...oh, not those advantages?
(Mkay, this probably doesn’t belong in this section, but Sailor Marin looks nothing like ordinary Marin because she takes on attributes of the Sailor Crystal’s original wielder, i.e. Miran’s original hair and eye color.)
Transformation Item: A multicolor henshin pen – which actually works as a pen, zomg!
Transformation Phrase: Marin Plasmic Power, Make Up! (Plasma – the star material, not the electricity – is the basic source of power for all Mira Senshi.)
Transformation Sequence Info: The pen transforms into Miran’s symbol and then into the four brooches of the sailor fuku. Wisps of energy emerge from each brooch and form a cocoon around Marin. Most ropes wrap around her body and become parts of the fuku, and the rest is her new hair. Strike a pose!
Alter Egos: Sailor Miran, Planet Miran’s original guardian. Miran’s consciousness, interlinked with the Sailor Crystal, regained its senses once it entered Marin’s body. However, she has no clue why the rift opened or how her psyche ended up inside the crystal. She’s an optimistic ditz, always ready to fight evil and speak in obnoxious clichés.
When Marin is in civilian form, Miran can either stay in Marin’s mind or hover like a ghost, like a really obnoxious conscience. However, she doesn’t separate from Marin when the latter is in senshi form, on the basis that Miran is the source of the senshi power.
Guardian Of: Miran, a planet in the Mira solar system. (In Marin's and our universes, Mira is a red giant in the constellation Cetus. In Miran's universe, Mira is still a red giant, but it is somehow able to sustain life on the seven planets orbiting it. It's a lot younger than the one here though.)
Abilities: Because she isn’t a true Sailor Senshi, Marin is not innately gifted with quick reflexes or ultra-speed/strength. Instead, Miran screams in her head to avoid this and that, and by sheer luck, Marin is unhurt. And no, just because she’s Asian doesn’t mean she knows martial arts.
Attacks:
Plasmic Quill – Marin flicks her fingers and shoots feathers of electric blue plasma, which pierce the opponent and knock the wind out of said opponent. The strength of this attack depends on the force at which Marin throws the quills, but there is no physically visible damage. The quills go through the body.
Wing Glazer – When Marin sweeps her arms together, the built-up energy she has charged up is triggered by the wind to spread and create an invisible bubble that deflects attacks. If the opponent gets too close, he/she will get cut by the sharp ring of wing-shaped energy around her.
Falchion of Miran (Falchion for short) - When Marin snaps her arm straight, a wing-shaped blade will form along her arm. This blade of plasma is razor-sharp and useful for melee or short-range combat. Unlike her Plasmic Quills, this attack can cause physical damage.
??? - Marin’s entire body is illuminated by plasma as she rises into the sky; once this attack is fully charged, she dives like a hawk towards her target. Her attack occurs at such a speed that the plasma generates bright streaks of light around her, similar to a meteor entering Earth’s atmosphere. It’s not as OP as it sounds – because this is a targeted attack, any opponent with quick enough reflexes could dodge the ensuing explosion.
??? - Marin's final attack, details of which have not been decided yet. For now it's just there for pretties.
Weakness: All of her attacks have “charging stages” (i.e., she clenches her fists really tightly), some longer than others, so not only is she unlikely to make the first move, but an opponent can catch her off guard. Usually it takes only seconds to charge, but in senshi battles even one second means everything. She also has really bad aim.
Personality: Marin doesn’t take on a new persona as a Sailor Senshi. Since she’s not used to battling, she freaks out a lot, which would be funny if her life and safety didn’t depend on it. It’s as if Marin and Miran’s roles have switched – now Miran is the bored expert, while Marin is the excited heroine.
